Pasay city: The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) announced the donation of seven new Patient Transport Vehicles (PTVs) to various local government units throughout the country. This recent turnover aims to enhance healthcare access in regions that are remote and underserved.
According to Philippines News Agency, the beneficiaries of the PTVs include Las Pi±as City, Tacloban City (Leyte), and the municipalities of Busuanga (Palawan), San Manuel (Tarlac), Mexico (Pampanga), Kibawe (Bukidnon), and Indang (Cavite). The turnover ceremony was led by PAGCOR chairperson and CEO Alejandro Tengco at the agency’s corporate office in Pasay City.
Tengco emphasized that the donation is part of PAGCOR’s commitment to improving healthcare accessibility, stating, “This is more than just a turnover of vehicles; it is about saving more lives.”
The newly donated PTVs are equipped with essential features such as a GPS navigation system, ambulance stretcher, medical oxygen, wheelchair, and first aid kit. These features are intended to ensure the safe and efficient transport of patients to nearby hospitals or healthcare facilities.
With this latest donation, PAGCOR has contributed a total of 51 emergency vehicles to local government units, public hospitals, frontline agencies, and selected military units across the nation. This initiative supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s efforts to enhance emergency medical services in vulnerable and underserved communities.
