Pampanga cops to get new motorcycle patrol units

At least 50 tactical motorcycle riding units (TMRUs) will be deployed in the different areas of this province to deter crimes.

Lt. Col. Eduardo Guevarra Jr., Pampanga Police Provincial Office deputy director for operation, said on Thursday the move will maximize and increase police presence, provide easier police accessibility, and hasten police response to any eventualities.

He said the utilization of TMRUs forms part of innovative measures that would focus on high-priority crimes and undertake directed and preventive patrol assignments based on the crime clocks, trends, and methods used by motor-riding suspects.

He said the TMRUs are strategically trained motorcycle-mounted patrollers who can immediately respond to any incident perpetrated by motorcycle-riding suspects.

“Ito po ang pang-counter natin sa kanila (referring to motor riding suspects). Ito po ay well-trained na sinuportahan ng provincial government of Pampanga, kaya po we utilize para masawata ang mga magnanakaw (This is our countermeasure against motor riding suspects. These are well-trained that was supported by the provincial government to prevent those robbers),” Guevarra said in a video interview.

He said the project is in support of the peace security MKK=K framework which stands for Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan Tungo sa Kaunlaran program of Philippine National Police chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr
