BEIJING-- The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) signed on Monday a memorandum of understanding on media exchange and cooperation with China International Publishing Group (CIPG) at the sidelines of the Belt and Road Forum here.
The signing of the agreement was witnessed by President Rodrigo Duterte and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People where the two leaders also held a bilateral meeting.
The agreement between the PCOO and the CIPG includes personnel exchange, news content exchange and joint publishing.
It will strengthen cooperation and enhance the capabilities of concerned agencies in the field of international communication and publishing.
The move is also seen as a big boost to the operations of state-owned media outfits under PCOO such as the Philippine News Agency, People's Television, Philippine Information Agency and Radyo Pilipinas.
