MANILA-- Officers, enlisted personnel and civilians at the Philippine Army (PA) headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City took part in the metro-wide earthquake drill Friday afternoon.
This was the third Metro Manila Shake Drill led by the Metro Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and the Manila Metropolitan Development Authority this year, Army spokesperson, Lt. Col. Ray Tiongson, said.
The scenario during the drill was a 7.2 magnitude earthquake generated by the movement of the West Valley Fault.
Army chief, Lt. Gen. Glorioso Miranda, headed the activity which began at 4 p.m.
Tiongson said the Army's participation focused on providing Army personnel with adequate knowledge on facing natural disasters that could strike anytime.
