Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has lauded the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation between Cambodia and China which began in 2010.
Cambodia has really benefited from this comprehensive strategic partnership and China's assistance to Cambodia has contributed to strengthening the country's independence in building her economy, underlined Samdech Techo Hun Sen while meeting with Chinese Premier H.E. Li Keqiang yesterday afternoon in Sanya city, China's Hainan province, on the sidelines of the 1st Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Leader's Meeting.
The Cambodian premier asked China to further assist Cambodia so that the two-way trade reach US$5 billion by 2017. He also sought China's support to the renovation of Preah Vihear Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In reply, H.E. Li Keqiang affirmed to tighten the cooperation with Cambodia, especially under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation, and to continue supporting development projects proposed by Cambodia, as well as to convince more Chinese investors to do business in Cambodia.
The Chinese premier pledged to help Cambodia in the restoration of Preah Vihear Temple, in terms of both technical and financial assistance.
