Manila: The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced on Sunday the resolution of 4,203 administrative cases involving 6,527 personnel throughout 2025. This significant development highlights the PNP's ongoing commitment to maintaining discipline and accountability within its ranks.
According to Philippines News Agency, the PNP records detailed that the cases involved 1,101 Police Commissioned Officers, 5,229 Police Non-Commissioned Officers, and 197 Non-Uniformed Personnel. Out of the 6,529 personnel affected, 3,124 were dismissed from service, while 3,403 faced penalties ranging from demotion to suspension. These actions followed a thorough process of evidence review, underscoring the organization's dedication to upholding justice and integrity.
PNP acting chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. emphasized that the measures taken demonstrate that accountability within the PNP is neither selective nor superficial. He reiterated that discipline is a fundamental aspect of police service, stating, "Wearing a uniform is a privilege, not a right. Those who betray public trust will be held accountable, while those proven innocent are clearing their names."
Nartatez assured that internal cleansing efforts would persist alongside reforms designed to enhance ethics, professionalism, and public trust. These reforms are rooted in the belief that discipline within the organization directly translates to improved service to the community.
