MANILA: Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) officer-in-charge Eduardo Punay on Tuesday welcomed 2023 by commending the exemplary efforts of the agency’s employees and at the same time asked for their steadfast support to the overall operations of the agency.
In his message during the flag-raising ceremony at the DSWD, Punay said DSWD ranked third among the best-performing agencies under the Marcos administration because of every employee’s hard work and dedication to serve the public, especially during times of crisis and disaster.
“The DSWD is now in a better position than it was six months ago when the President assumed office. A big part of that success was the able leadership of Secretary Erwin T. Tulfo who has done a lot in the Department even for a short period of time,” he said.
In his assumption as top official of the department, Punay assured the public that the DSWD will continue to pursue the reforms and programs Tulfo initiated during his stewardship of the department.
Punay also made an earnest request for similar support and cooperation accorded to Tulfo by all DSWD employees in the central and field offices in the fulfillment of the department’s mandate to uplift the lives of the vulnerable sectors
