MANILA Expect rains over the Batanes and Babuyan group of islands due to the frontal system on Thursday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In its weather forecast Wednesday, PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said the frontal system, a weather system where the cold air from mainland China and hot air from Japan meet, is forecast to prevail over extreme northern Luzon.
PAGASA warned of occasionally moderate to heavy rains, lightning and strong winds in these areas.
Metro Manila and the other parts of the country, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers brought by local thunderstorms.
The seaboards of extreme northern Luzon will also have moderate coastal waters due to moderate winds, while the remaining seaboards of the country will experience slight to moderate coastal waters pushed by light to moderate winds.
For the week, PAGASA forecasts a temperature range of 17-37C across the country, while it projects a temperature of 25-34C in Metro Manila on Thursday.
On Wednesday, PAGASA recorded a minimum temperature of 26.5C and a peak temperature of 34C. (PNA)
