Surigao Sur tops vax drive in Caraga

The province of Surigao del Sur leads other provinces in Caraga Region in vaccination drives against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), the regional health office said Tuesday.

In a report, the Department of Health in Caraga (DOH-13) said a total of 363,272 individuals in Surigao del Sur are fully vaccinated as of April 24.

“The number represents 71.46 percent of the 508,327 target individuals for vaccination in the province,” DOH-13 said.

Agusan del Norte is second on the list with 208,132 fully vaccinated individuals, or 66.68 percent of its 312,157 target population.

In Agusan del Sur, a total of 397,250 persons are also fully vaccinated or 65.94 percent of the province’s 602,420 target population.

Surigao del Norte, meanwhile, landed in the fourth spot with 284,474 fully vaccinated individuals or 64.49 percent of its 441,103 target population.

The Province of Dinagat Islands, on the other hand, reached 56.52 percent or 60,112 fully vaccinated individuals from its 106,356 targeted population.

Among the cities in the region, Butuan City garnered the highest number of fully vaccinated individuals with a rate of 84.52 percent, or 250,859 individuals out of its 296,808 targets.

Across the region, DOH-13 tallied a total of 1,564,099 fully vaccinated individuals, or 68.99 percent of its target population.
