Zamboanga city: Authorities arrested three suspected drug dealers and seized PHP10.2 million worth of illegal drugs in separate anti-drug operations here Saturday.
According to Philippines News Agency, in his report Sunday, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Zamboanga Peninsula Director Bryan Babang stated that a suspect known as "Brandon," a resident of the city, was apprehended around 7:50 p.m. in a buy-bust operation along Corcuera Street in Barangay Zone 4. During the operation, a kilogram of suspected shabu was recovered, packed in a resealable plastic bag with an estimated value of PHP6.8 million. Additional items seized included buy-bust money, a mobile phone, and a car allegedly used in the delivery of illegal drugs.
The report further highlighted that two other suspects, identified as "Arnold" and "Ben," were arrested in a separate buy-bust operation outside a hotel in Barangay Canelar around 4:45 p.m. They were found carrying approximately 500 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP3.4 million.
Director Babang confirmed that the three suspects will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. He noted that the operations were successfully executed after the suspects agreed to complete the illegal drug transactions with undercover agents.
