Manila: Parts of the country will experience rains caused by Tropical Storm Nuri's trough and the northeast monsoon or "amihan", the weather bureau said. Nuri was last tracked 1,290 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. According to Philippines News Agency, the trough of Tropical Storm Nuri will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms across Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) indicated that moderate to heavy rains could result in flash floods or landslides in these areas. Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, locally known as "amihan", will cause light rains over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora. Additionally, isolated light rains are expected over Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Visayas. In the rest of Mindanao, isolated rain showers will occur due to localized thunderstorms. Luzon and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao are predicted to experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas. Elsewhere in the country, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, as reported by PAGASA.
