MANILA Tropical storm "Liwayway" will bring moderate to heavy rains in some areas of northern Luzon Tuesday, as it intensifies while moving northwest.
In its 5 a.m. severe weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Liwayway will bring light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains over Apayao, Cagayan, including Babuyan Islands and Batanes.

Liwayway was last spotted at 255 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan, packing maximum sustained winds of 85 km. per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 105 kph. It is moving northwest at 20 kph.
The southwest monsoon will also bring scattered light to moderate rains with at times heavy rain showers over Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Region IV-A, (Calabarzon), Region IV-B (Mimaropa), Panay Island, Guimaras, and the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region.
PAGASA said Liwayway will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. It is likely to intensify into a severe tropical storm within 24 hours.
Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 20-31 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 24-30 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 16-20 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 26-32 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao 24-32 degrees Celsius. (PNA)
