The city government has recorded 228 cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covids-19) reinfections here since the pandemic started two years ago.
“Lets us avail of the vaccine booster to strengthen our shield against the virus,” Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said in a statement Friday.
Salazar noted that 159,286 residents have availed of the first dose of vaccine booster, which represents only 23.6 percent of the 674,760 fully vaccinated individuals in the city.
Out of the total first dose booster recipients, only 3,282 got their second booster jabs, she said.
The first and second vaccine boosters rolled out in the city in the second quarter of 2021 and January this year, respectively.
The city has recorded 29,254 cumulative confirmed cases of Covid-19 with 27,974 recoveries, 30 active cases, and 1,250 deaths.
