MANILA-- The Philippine National Police (PNP) is looking for individuals with necessary qualifications to fill 545 vacancies in its technical service units.
Men and women who are found qualified for these positions will be commissioned under the PNP Lateral Entry Program, said police spokesperson Chief Supt. Dionardo Carlos.
He added the PNP Lateral Entry Board is now making initial preparations for the processing of applications for lateral entry of technical service officer candidates.
Earlier, the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) passed Resolution No. 2-17-229 last May 31, granting the PNP the authority to fill-up 545 vacancies for police commissioned officers with the rank of senior inspector and inspector in the technical services.
Carlos said vacancies for 100 lawyers, 48 medical doctors and 34 chaplains will be commissioned to the initial rank of senior inspector with a monthly basic salary of PHP35,312 and allowances and other cash and non-cash benefits.
The Lateral Entry quota is also reserved for 85 registered nurses, 50 psychologists, 54 dentists, 50 forensic chemist/chemical engineers, 50 criminologists, 18 electronics and communications engineers, 40 information technology specialists, 11 civil engineers, three electrical engineers and two architects.
They will be appointed to the initial rank of inspector with a starting basic monthly salary of PHP32,341 plus allowances and other fringe benefits.
The PNP Officer Corps comprise approximately eight percent of the total PNP strength.
