Antique’s Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) is encouraging more indigents, especially members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), to avail of the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination.

IPHO Health Officer, Dr. Leoncio Abiera Jr., said Thursday only 3,213 indigents have availed of the first dose of Covid-19 vaccines as of September 26.

“We are highly encouraging the indigent group to take time to avail of the Covid-19 vaccination,” Abiera said, adding that 4Ps beneficiaries are included in the A5 or indigent priority group.

Antique has 27,020 4Ps members.

The vaccination program targets 52,761 eligible indigents in the province.

Jeffrey Gabucay, 4Ps Provincial Link in Antique, said they would closely coordinate with the IPHO and the Municipal Health Offices (MHOs) in the province’s 18 towns so they could assist in the vaccination of 4Ps beneficiaries.

“If the MHOs could set aside a day for the 4Ps Covid-19 vaccination, our Municipal Link could then help coordinate with our Pantawid beneficiaries for their schedules,” Gabucay said.

This way, they could get the figure of how many Pantawid beneficiaries have been vaccinated, considering that the Covid-19 vaccination is just voluntary, he added.

Some Pantawid beneficiaries under A1 or health care workers and A3 or adults with comorbidities are done with their vaccination.
