Bicol Region reaches 82% of target for nat’l vax days

The Department of Health-Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) in Bicol reported on Friday that the second round of the National Vaccination Days (NVD) in the region inoculated about 561,077 individuals or 81.85 percent of its target.

In a statement, DOH Bicol said as of December 24, 28.29 percent of those vaccinated received their first dose, 69.45 percent their second dose, and 2.26 percent their booster shots.

“The activity held on December 20 to 22, this year was conducted as a continuation of the first round of the NVDs conducted on November 29 to December 1, 2021,” the statement read.

The vaccination activity targeted to inoculate 685,491 individuals in the region.

The island province of Catanduanes recorded the highest coverage, vaccinating over 255.74 percent of their target, followed by Albay with 103.29 percent, Camarines Sur with 89.96 percent, Sorsogon with 61.91 percent, Masbate with 60.50 percent, and Camarines Norte with 57.99 percent.

Others who were unable to participate may still be vaccinated as inoculation sites are scheduled to operate beyond the NVDs activities.

The DOH encourages individuals who have not been vaccinated to get their jabs before the new year.

“Those who are scheduled for their second dose are reminded to complete the doses to ensure protection against severe symptoms and death brought about by of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19),” the DOH statement added.
