A Ford Expedition vehicle owned by a funeral home went ablaze during a funeral procession in this town on Friday.

In an interview, Pangasinan Police Provincial Office information officer Maj. Arturo Melchor Jr. said the car driven by Jefferson Molina, driver of the Mt. Zion Funeral Homes, suddenly emitted smoke from its front portion.

The car stopped during the procession in Barangay Tebag West and the driver was able to get out before it burst into flames, he said.

“It was probably due to a defect in its electrical wiring,” Melchor said.

No injury was reported from the incident.

Melchor added that an investigation is ongoing to find out the cause of the blaze.
