ROSALES, Pangasinan – The Sto. Domingo police in Nueva Ecija intercepted a hijacked motorcycle from Pangasinan during its Oplan Sita operation on Tuesday.

In an interview, Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) information officer Maj. Arturo Melchor Jr. said the Rosales police station coordinated with Sto. Domingo police regarding a stolen motorcycle in Barangay Tomana West in this town.

“The suspect was from Umingan town, which is a boundary of Pangasinan to Nueva Ecija. In their operation Oplan Sita, the motorcycle, a Suzuki Raider 150, was recovered from the suspect,” he said.

The motorcycle will be turned over to its owner while the suspect, who is a minor, is now under the custody of the town’s social welfare office, he said.

“The social welfare office will conduct an assessment on the suspect. If he is a habitual offender, charges might be filed against him despite his age but it will depend on the recommendation of the social welfare office,” Melchor added. (PNA)
