Over 150K Bulakenyos fully vaccinated vs. Covid-19

A total of 150,073 Bulakenyos are now fully vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) since the inoculation rollout started in this province last March 8.

The Provincial Health Office-Public Health (PHO-PH) also reported on Friday that 335,153 residents have already received their first dose.

This figure translates to a total of 485,226 administered doses out of 772,398 vaccine doses of different brands — Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Janssen — which the province has so far received.

In an interview on Friday, Governor Daniel Fernando cited the importance to strictly observe and practice the minimum public health standards in order to further improve the record of recovered Covid-19 cases.

As of July 29, the PHO-PH reported that 41,200 or 95 percent of the total of 43,606 confirmed Covid-19 cases in the province have recovered.

“Unti-unti, maaabot din natin ang herd immunity kaya huwag po tayong magsasawa sa pagsunod sa mga dapat nating gawin para makaiwas sa Covid-19 (Gradually, we would attain herd immunity. Thus, let us not get tired to follow what must be done to avoid Covid-19),” Fernando said.

The governor also encouraged Bulakenyos to register for master listing in https://doh.gov.ph/Vaccines or to communicate with their local government units for Covid-19 vaccines.

“Kung tayo po ay bakunado, mas protektado po tayo laban sa Covid-19, mas mapoprotektahan din po natin ang mga nakapaligid sa atin (If we are vaccinated, we are more protected against Covid-19, more protected with our surroundings),” he added.

Meanwhile, the governor also said that he already directed the Provincial Task Force (PTF) on Covid-19 to intensify the implementation of the prevent-detect-isolate-treat-reintegrate (PDITR) strategy after a single case of Covid-19 Delta variant has been reported in the province.

Citing the report of PTF Response Cluster Head Dr. Hjordis Marushka Celis, Fernando said the Delta variant positive individual was from the town of San Ildefonso but is now almost fully recovered.

Bulacan will be under general community quarantine with heightened restrictions from August 1 to 15. (PNA)
