At least 566 personnel from various stations of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) have already been vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) courtesy of their host-local government units (LGUs).

Data showed that as of Monday, San Carlos City Police Station (CPS) registered the highest number of vaccinated staff with 75.

Col. Romy Palgue, police provincial director, said since the Philippine National Police (PNP) does not have its own vaccine supply yet for personnel in all 31 stations in Negros Occidental, but police officers were able to avail of the shots provided by the LGUs.

“If the LGU or the local chief executive offers the vaccines, that’s the time the police get themselves vaccinated,” he said in a statement.

Palgue said he has not been vaccinated yet, but 57 personnel of the NOCPPO headquarters have already availed of the vaccines from the provincial government.
