Over 75K Zambo City residents get first dose of Covid-19 vax

The City Health Office (CHO) announced on Thursday that a total of 75,847 individuals in the city received their first dose of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines

In a statement, the CHO said out of this number, 26,808 have been fully vaccinated as of July 13.

The figures translate to a 10.83 percent vaccination rate for the first dose and 3.8 percent for the second dose out of the city’s 700,000 target population.

Of the 75,847 who received first dose, 14,365 belong to the A1 priority group; 24,320, A2; 34,644; A3; and, 2,518, A4.

The A1 priority group consists of workers in front-line health services; A2, senior citizens; A3, persons with comorbidities; and, A4, front-line personnel in essential sector, including uniformed personnel.

Of the 26,808 who got their second dose, 11,070 belong to the A1 priority group; 8,244, A2; 6,666, A3; and, 828, A4.

The city government has started rolling out vaccination for the A4 priority sector on Monday.

Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) director, led the ceremonial inoculation as the City Health Office activated the vaccination site at Camp Batalla, this city.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has instructed the CHO to prioritize in the A4 vaccination rollout those in the frontlines and are exposed to risks.
