Authorities have caught 41 individuals violating protocols on mass gatherings and ordered the closing of an establishment in Pasig City.

Mayor Vico Sotto said the culprits attended a birthday party on Thursday, a violation of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) rules.

“Ang titigas ng ulo (Stubborn)!” Sotto posted on Facebook on Friday.

The city’s Business Permit and Licensing Office has already ordered the closure of the Royana Events Place and Resort in Barangay Kalawaan, where the gathering was held.

Sotto said a concerned citizen tipped off the police as the venue is not visible from main roads.

Only authorized persons outside residence and those obtaining essential goods and services are allowed to go out during ECQ.

“Kung gusto nating bumalik sa mas normal na pamumuhay, sumunod po tayo sa health protocols. Tandaan, ECQ pa ngayon (If we want to go back to our normal life, let’s follow the health protocols. Remember we’re still under ECQ),” he said.

Dine-in services and all types of gatherings are not allowed for the duration of the ECQ until Aug. 20.
