Five suspects were arrested while some PHP510,000 in suspected shabu were seized by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Western Visayas (PDEA-6) Special Enforcement Team (SET) in three separate buy-busts here.

At past 1 p.m. on Friday, operatives collared high-value target Kim Khubchand, a resident of Barangay 2, after he sold PHP12,500 worth of the prohibited substance to a poseur-buyer at the downtown area along Luzuriaga Street.

A PDEA-6 agent, who led the operation, said the transaction was carried out in “drive-through” as the suspect on a motorcycle was supposed to just hand over the item to the undercover operative and drive away immediately.

“We transacted with him directly,” he said in a radio interview.

During the operation, the team recovered one medium and two big heat-sealed plastic sachets of shabu weighing about 50 grams worth PHP340,000 along with the suspect’s Samsung mobile phone and black Honda motorcycle.

On Thursday, the team arrested Richard Consorte at around 9:30 p.m. in Bangga Escala, Barangay Estefania.

The suspect yielded several sachets of shabu weighing about 10 grams with a standard price of PHP68,000.

Earlier at around 12:40 p.m., the PDEA-6 agents also apprehended three suspects along Bonifacio St. in Barangay 4.

They were identified as Kristine Faith Derla, 28; Khim Rose Derla, 24; and Joar Abdon, 28.

Kristine Faith has been tagged as a regional target-listed personality by the PDEA.

Operatives found in the suspects’ possession about 15 grams of shabu worth PHP102,000.

All the suspects are facing charges for violation of Article 2, Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
