MANILA – San Juan City’s health care workers and non-medical front-liners involved in the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) crisis management started receiving their financial incentives from the local government on Friday.

A cash aid of PHP5,000 will go to each health care worker while PHP3,000 will be given to other front-liners, including City Hall employees, San Juan Medical Center staff, village personnel, those manning quarantine and testing facilities, and police and security forces in checkpoints.

“We thank them all for their dedication, hard work, and sacrifice. This is our little way of showing them how much they are appreciated,” Mayor Francis Zamora said in an interview during the payout at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

“Basta bahagi ka ng Covid-19 response at interventions malaki man o maliit ang inyong tungkulin kayo po ay makakatanggap ng financial aid na ito (As long as you’re part of the city’s Covid-19 response and interventions, regardless of your responsibility, you will still receive this financial assistance,” he added.

Zamora said the distribution of cash assistance for about 2,500 individuals will be finished within five to six days. (PNA)
