The Department of Health–Region 12 (Soccsksargen) on Tuesday reported 308 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) recoveries, improving the region’s recovery rate to 87 percent.
Arjohn Gangoso, speaking for DOH-12, said of the total recoveries, Sarangani topped the list at 118; General Santos City, 75; South Cotabato, 59; Sultan Kudarat, 32; and North Cotabato, 24.
“This also made the Covid-19 recovery rate improve to 87 percent with 21,783 patients recovering from a total of 25,172 cases since the start of the pandemic in March last year,” he told reporters here.
Amid the latest recoveries, however, Gangoso also reported 118 new confirmed cases with six deaths related to the virus.
Of the new cases, General Santos City logged with 55; Sarangani, 24; North Cotabato and South Cotabato with 14 each, and Sultan Kudarat, 11.
The new deaths were reported in North Cotabato with three; South Cotabato, two; and General Santos City, one.
Active cases stand at 2,585 where South Cotabato has 864; General Santos City, 614; North Cotabato, 561; Sarangani, 401; and Sultan Kudarat, 145.
With the six new fatalities, the total death toll in the region is now 800.
