Westmincom promotes 3 officers, 22 enlisted men

The Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) has promoted three officers and 22 enlisted personnel to the next higher rank.

The Westmincom said in a statement Wednesday the three officers promoted to the rank of Major are Capt. David Cayton, Capt. Kristoffer Maghanoy, and, Capt. Ginky Olandag.

Of the 22 enlisted personnel, the Westmincom said one was promoted to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant, five to Master Sergeant, eight to Technical Sergeant, four to Staff Sergeant, three to Sergeant, and one to Corporal.

Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan Jr., commander of Westmincom, acknowledged the indefatigable dedication and invaluable services of the newly promoted officers and enlisted personnel that contributed to the accomplishment of the command’s multifarious objectives.

Vinluan led the donning of ranks ceremony on Tuesday at the Eisenhower Hall, Khadaffy Mansion at Camp Navarro, home of the Westmincom headquarters here.

“It is a pleasure for me to have the opportunity to pin this milestone in your military career. Your promotion is a testament not only to your achievements but to your proven potential throughout your decades-long military service,” Vinluan told the newly-promoted personnel.

He urged them to remain steadfast and continue to exert exemplary efforts in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities as public servants.

The donning of ranks ceremony was graced by Brig. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete, deputy commander for administration, Brig. Gen. Arturo Rojas, deputy commander for operations, Col. Elmer Suderio, chief of the unified command staff, and the command staff.
