The city health office (CHO) has extended the national vaccination drive here until Friday to cater to more residents.

Maria Christine Lim, CHO health education and promotion officer, said Thursday the move was to encourage those who have yet to receive the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines.

“We extended the national vaccination drive. It is being conducted alongside the regular inoculation activity,” Lim said.

Data from the CHO released showed that a total of 87,935 individuals received their Covid-19 vaccines during the first three days of the national vaccination drive.

Of the total, 76,413 received their first dose while 11,522 got their second dose of the vaccine.

President Rodrigo Duterte signed on November 24 Proclamation 1253 declaring November 29 to December 1 as the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan National Covid-19 Vaccination Days.”

Meanwhile, the CHO data also showed that 832,384 individuals have received their Covid-19 vaccines since the start of the Covid-19 vaccination here in March this year.

Of the total number, 542,873 have been partially vaccinated, or 78.14 percent of the 694,696 target eligible population.

Around 289,511 have received their second dose of the vaccines, or 41.67 percent of the targeted eligible population of 694,696.
