1.5K NegOcc Drivers Receive Cash Aid, Additional 1K Scheduled for Friday

Bacolod city: At least 2,510 drivers of transportation network vehicle services and delivery service companies in Bacolod City and surrounding areas started receiving PHP5,000 in cash relief assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development - Negros Island Region (DSWD-NIR) on Thursday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the two-day payout event at SM City Bacolod catered to 1,510 recipients on Thursday. These beneficiaries hailed from the cities of Bacolod, Bago, Talisay, Silay, Victorias, and La Carlota, alongside the municipalities of Don Salvador Benedicto, Murcia, EB Magalona, Valladolid, San Enrique, and Pontevedra. The remaining 1,000 recipients, all from Bacolod, are slated to receive their aid on Friday.

DSWD-NIR reported that the financial assistance aims to provide immediate relief to eligible TNVS and delivery drivers, helping to supplement their daily expenses and support their families amidst rising transportation and living costs. The agency emphasized that this cash relief assistance forms part of the government's ongoing efforts to support vulnerable transport and delivery workers who continue to provide essential services to the public despite economic challenges.

Personnel from various companies availed themselves of this assistance, including Airspeed, Cebu Easy General Services Corp., Combined Movers Inc., Delivery Hero Logistics Philippines Inc. (Foodpanda), Dvinci Manpower and Services Express, Speed Riders Inc., Fastrak Services Inc., Int Logistics and Manpower, Joyride PH Corp. Delivery Services, LBC Express Inc., Mail Expert Messengerial Gen. Services Inc., Maxim, Payroll Aims Corporate Resources Inc., PH Global Jet Express Inc., Promark Corp., Qualitrans, RG Serve, RL Soft Corp. (Indrive), RMT Logistics, SPX Express, and Wizard Manpower and Allied Services Inc.
