1.5K Seedlings Planted as CSC Leads Tree Planting in Agusan

Cabadbaran city: A total of 1,500 seedlings of various species were planted during a simultaneous tree planting activity in Barangay Puting Bato, Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte. The event, held in time for the celebration of the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, was led by the Civil Service Commission in the Caraga Region (CSC-13) and joined by 600 government workers from various line agencies.

According to Philippines News Agency, the CSC-13 emphasized the role of government workers beyond their official duties, highlighting their contribution to nation-building. In a statement, CSC-13 remarked, 'Our servant heroes proved once more that we are not just government workers - that we help build this nation.' The commission underscored the importance of unity among government workers to nurture not only trees but also a greener and stronger future for communities.

The CSC-13 acknowledged the support of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in the Caraga Region (DENR-13), the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office in Agusan del Norte, and the city government of Cabadbaran for their strong backing of the event.

In a separate statement, DENR-13 noted that most of the seedlings planted were indigenous species, and the activity represented a collective effort aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and public service.
