Manila: Eleven senior police officers, including the Philippine National Police (PNP) director for operations, have been promoted to higher ranks.
According to Philippines News Agency, a memorandum dated July 9 revealed the promotions, with Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Pe±ones set to receive his second star following his advancement to major general.
Additionally, police colonels Marlo Castillo, Glenn Lonogan, Gerry Ratunil, and Rommel Rumbaoa will be elevated to the rank of brigadier general, marking their first star. The promotions extend to six lieutenant colonels, namely Franklin Ortiz, Laurente Acquiot, Ronald Mendoza, Joel Castro, Rico Pangilinan, and Vincent Bangwa, who will be promoted to full colonels.
The ceremonial donning of ranks is planned to occur at Camp Crame, although the date is yet to be determined. Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Dominic Baccay is appointed as the acting regional director of Police Regional Office in Calabarzon, succeeding Brig. Gen. Hansel Marantan, who will retire on July 10.
