Bicol: At least eighteen suspects were arrested, and PHP1.2 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in a weeklong anti-drug operation in Bicol Region, the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) said Tuesday. PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Erosito Miranda reported that among the arrested were two high-value individuals and sixteen street-level individuals.

According to Philippines News Agency, a total of 16 anti-illegal operations were carried out from December 15 to 21 this year. The operations led to the seizure of 183.1340 grams of shabu and 4.18 grams of marijuana, with a total estimated standard drug price of PHP1,245,812.80.

Eight cases have been filed against the suspects, with an additional case currently being developed. Miranda emphasized that the seizures have prevented the illegal drugs from reaching communities and causing harm, particularly among the youth.
