Malasiqui: The police stations here and in Calasiao town inaugurated their new buildings on Tuesday.

According to Philippines News Agency, Ilocos Police Regional Office director Brig. Gen. Dindo Reyes, in an interview, said the new station buildings were funded under the General Appropriations Act of 2025.

"This is part of PNP's seven-point agenda under facility development. We are improving facilities for the people and also for even better police service," he said. The new buildings were built based on the standard police station designs and are equipped with closed-circuit television cameras, among other facilities and security equipment.

Reyes also said like all the police stations nationwide, the new buildings will also have new computer sets and multi-mode radio devices. He added that more modernized and standardized police station buildings will be constructed in the region next year.

Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Francisco Sawadan Jr., officer-on-charge of the Malasiqui Police Station, said they will transfer to the new building by next month as they move the offices and equipment from the old building to the new one. The new building was constructed on a 1,000-square meter lot donated by the municipal government.

Malasiqui Mayor Alfe Soriano said they plan to turn the old police station building into a museum as part of the development of the town plaza.
