Makati City: Two Vietnamese nationals were arrested in Makati City for allegedly practicing medicine without the necessary licenses and permits from the Professional Regulation Commission, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said on Wednesday.
According to Philippines News Agency, Acting CIDG Director, Brig. Gen. Rolindo Suguilon, stated that the two Vietnamese, identified as Nguyen, a female, and Phuong, a male, were apprehended while conducting medical consultations and providing quotations for nose augmentation and body parts modification procedures. These activities took place at the Doly Beauty Lounge located at HV Dela Costa, Bel-Air Village, Makati City on June 16.
Suguilon emphasized that the illegal practice of medicine poses a threat to public health and the life of every patient involved. The foreigners will face charges for violating Republic Act 2382, also known as the Medical Act of 1959.
He urged the public to report any illegal activities in their localities, assuring that the CIDG would do its utmost to prevent crimes and potential health problems. Suguilon also praised the CIDG Quezon City District field unit for their prompt and effective police service.
'Rest assured that the CIDG is steadfast in enforcing all the laws and unyielding in its fight against all illegal activities and criminalities nationwide,' he said.
