Magsingal:The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has expanded its support for entrepreneurship by inaugurating the 29th Negosyo Center in Magsingal, Ilocos Sur. This new center aims to provide aspiring entrepreneurs and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with greater access to business development services.
According to Philippines News Agency, Acting Provincial Director Zaldy Zafra stated that the center is intended to offer an accessible venue for individuals looking to start businesses, as well as for existing entrepreneurs who seek to improve operations, expand markets, and enhance competitiveness. Zafra emphasized the collaboration between DTI and local government units in fostering a conducive environment for business growth and entrepreneurship.
The Magsingal Negosyo Center will serve as a convenient platform for local entrepreneurs to access business advisory services, entrepreneurial training, and registration assistance, along with information on DTI programs. Established under Republic Act 10644, or the Go Negosyo Act, Negosyo Centers aim to promote entrepreneurship and support the growth of MSMEs nationwide.
By facilitating the transformation of business ideas into viable enterprises, the initiative seeks to foster innovation, create livelihood opportunities, and bolster local economic development. Magsingal Mayor Victoria Ina Favis expressed her support for the initiative, highlighting it as a significant step in strengthening the municipality's entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Vicky Ulap, president of the Tilapia Growers Association in Ilocos Sur, also praised the DTI for creating additional opportunities for entrepreneurs, which she believes will lead to more sustainable livelihood opportunities for the community.
