Three cousins drowned on Monday in a beach resort in this town, the police said Tuesday.
In his report, P/Lt Darren Ganotan, chief of San Antonio Municipal Police Office, identified the victims as Brietanya Alexa Ancho y Liwarin, 5; John Andrey Guania y Liwarin, 5; and Prince Nythan Ocol y Liwarin, 5, all residents of Purok 2B, Barangay San Miguel.
Initial investigation conducted by P/SSgt. Noel Cunanan showed the children were last seen at around 2 p.m. while playing inside the Arirang Beach Resort compound located in Purok 6 of the said town, while their parents were busy doing some chores.
Minutes later, the three cousins were seen going outside the resort premises and walking in the direction of the seashore.
At around 3 p.m., three local residents called the attention of resort personnel after discovering the bodies of the victims floating on the water.
The young victims were rushed to San Marcelino District Hospital but they were declared dead on arrival by the attending doctors.
