3 Quake-Hit Transmission Lines in Mindanao Restored to Normal Operations

Davao oriental: Three transmission lines affected by the magnitude 7.4 earthquake in Davao Oriental Friday morning have been restored, but one remains unavailable, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said.

According to Philippines News Agency, the restored transmission lines include the Davao-Toril 69kV line, the Nabunturan-Asuncion 69kV line, and the Bunawan-Maco 138kV line. The NGCP noted that the remaining unenergized Nabunturan-Masara (Apex) 138kV line is owned and maintained by a customer and does not serve any distribution utility.

NGCP also confirmed that all power plants affected by the tremor have been restored by 11:30 a.m. The total generation loss was around 373.5MW, with an initial estimate of affected loads in Mindanao being around 739MW. It assured that power transmission services in Mindanao are currently under normal operations.
