3 Weather Systems to Bring Rains Across Parts of Philippines

Manila: Three weather systems will bring rains in several areas on Friday, the weather bureau said. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that the shear line will cause scattered rains and thunderstorms in Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

According to Philippines News Agency, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will similarly impact the Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Negros Island Region, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, and Palawan, bringing about the same weather conditions. Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte are set to experience scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies. These weather patterns could lead to moderate to heavy rains, increasing the risk of flash floods or landslides in the affected areas.

The rest of the country will see isolated rain showers triggered by the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms. In northern and western sections of northern Luzon, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are expected. Other areas will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas.
