Zamboanga city: Authorities have arrested four high-value targets and seized over P2 million worth of illegal drugs in two anti-drug operations here, a top official said Saturday. Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula Director Brig. Gen. Edwin Quilates announced that two suspects, a 25-year-old resident of Luuk, Sulu, and a 30-year-old from Barangay Kasanyangan in this city, were apprehended at 9:33 p.m. Friday in Barangay Sinunuc.
According to Philippines News Agency, Brig. Gen. Quilates reported that 250 grams of suspected shabu, packaged in five heat-sealed plastic sachets worth PHP1.7 million, were seized from the two individuals. The suspects have been transferred to the Zamboanga City Police Station-11 detention facility for inquest proceedings and the filing of criminal charges.
In a separate incident, two other suspects, aged 33 and 38, were arrested in a buy-bust operation at 6:20 p.m. in Barangay Baliwasan. The authorities confiscated 50 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP340,000 from this operation. Brig. Gen. Quilates praised all units involved for their coordinated and well-executed efforts in these operations.
