4 Caraga cities log zero Covid-19 infections in 7 days

The Department of Health in the Caraga Region (DOH-13) said four cities in the area recorded zero coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections during the past week.

In its weekly report Monday, DOH-13 said no Covid-19 cases were recorded in the cities of Butuan, Surigao, Tandag, and Bislig from May 1 to 7.

No Covid-19 infections were also logged in the Province of Dinagat Islands during the period, within which at least 12 new Covid-19 cases were also recorded in the region.

This brings the total cumulative number of infections in Caraga to 58,872 since the pandemic broke out two years ago, DOH-13 records said.

The new cases were recorded in Agusan del Sur with six, Bayugan City with two, and a case each in the provinces of Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Cabadbaran City.

As of Monday, the region has 14 active Covid-19 cases.

“The total recoveries from Covid-19 infections in Caraga Region as of Monday is 56,665,” DOH-13 said.

Two new Covid-19 related deaths were also recorded last week, bringing the total number of deaths in the region to 2,193 since the pandemic began.
