Manila: The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the city government of San Juan have partnered to establish a 30-story building project under the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.
According to Philippines News Agency, DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar announced in a news release on Wednesday that the building is one of multiple housing projects proposed by the city government to the DHSUD under the 4PH initiative. Secretary Acuzar emphasized that the project is more than just an event or a launch; it signifies a dream turning into reality.
The DHSUD is dedicated to expediting the housing projects in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive and addressing the reported housing needs in San Juan City. Acuzar stressed the importance of collaborating with local governments and key shelter agencies (KSAs) to ensure the timely delivery of quality homes.
The Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), a key shelter agency under DHSUD, is leading the project on a 2,577-square-meter lot secured by the local government. The building, set to rise in Barangay Batis, will offer 1,029 housing units, each measuring 25 square meters, and will include modern amenities such as a multipurpose area and other essential facilities.
SHFC President Federico Agustin Laxa assured potential beneficiaries that the construction and completion of the project would be fast-tracked with the full support of San Juan City.
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora expressed his gratitude to President Marcos and Secretary Acuzar for their commitment to providing housing opportunities for all Filipinos. Mayor Zamora also indicated that more housing projects will be developed in the city under the 4PH program.
