Manila: A Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiary is dedicating his time to teaching learners, particularly those from impoverished backgrounds.

According to Philippines News Agency, Mart Mariano, a 4Ps beneficiary, has been committed to educating children in his neighborhood, focusing on catechism and remedial lessons. This commitment follows his graduation with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from St. Anthony's College in San Jose de Buenavista in June of the previous year.

Mariano expressed his enthusiasm for teaching, seizing an opportunity to work at St. Vincent's High School in San Remigio just four months post-graduation. His drive to teach is fueled by a desire to give back in appreciation for the national government's support to his family.

The Mariano family became part of the 4Ps program in 2023. While Mart Mariano himself is not a grantee, his younger siblings, who are in Grades 9 and 12, benefit from educational cash grants. Arnold Casaig, a 4Ps Municipal Link, noted that although Mariano does not receive the program's monthly cash grant, his siblings shared their grants with him during his college years, enabling him to continue his education.

Casaig also highlighted that Mariano received substantial support from a priest in the seminary, which significantly aided his educational journey. Coming from a family of farmers, Mariano plans to further his education by pursuing graduate studies in the near future.
