Ilocos region: The Land Transportation Office's (LTO) free Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) has benefited over 5,000 residents of the Ilocos Region between January 1 and August 25, an official announced Thursday.
According to Philippines News Agency, LTO - Ilocos Region Director Glorioso Daniel Martinez highlighted that the two-day free TDC course is organized in batches. This initiative aims to assist motorists in obtaining a student permit, which is the first step toward applying for a driver's license. "Through the program, they are also able to gain important knowledge about responsible driving, traffic laws and regulations, road safety, and the roles and responsibilities of those who use the road," Martinez explained.
The initiative is in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive to enhance government services. More TDC schedules are planned for different areas within the region in September. Martinez urged interested individuals to contact their local LTO offices to find out more about the schedules in their respective areas. He also advised participants to set up their own Land Transport Management System account on the LTO portal and prepare their birth certificate for the registration process.
