6.4-Magnitude Earthquake Hit Waters Off South-Eastern Philippines

Manila: An earthquake, with a preliminary magnitude of 6.4, hit waters off south-eastern Philippines this morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.

According to Nam News Network, the quake occurred at 09:58 a.m. local time (0158 GMT), striking at a depth of 10 kilometers, approximately 359 kilometers north-east of Baganga town in Davao Oriental province.

The institute reported that the tectonic quake will not cause damage, providing reassurance to the residents in the surrounding areas.
