Legazpi City: The Department of Labor and Employment in Bicol (DOLE-5) announced that more than 7,000 local and overseas job opportunities will be available at a job fair in Legazpi City, Albay province, as part of the Independence Day celebration on Thursday.
According to Philippines News Agency, DOLE-5 Director Imelda Gatinao revealed in a phone interview on Wednesday that the Independence Day Job Fair, hosted at SM City Legazpi, will feature approximately 7,266 local job vacancies from 35 employers and 1,170 overseas job vacancies from three confirmed employers. Gatinao emphasized the significance of having both job seekers and employers in one location, which facilitates a smoother process for both parties. She highlighted the importance of family members contributing to household income, noting the variety of administrative and skill-based positions available.
Gatinao further explained that a one-stop-shop of government services will be present at the event to assist job seekers with pre-employment document processing. Special support will be provided for first-time job seekers, including guidance counseling through the Career Development Support Program and free legal services from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP)-Albay Chapter.
The Technical Education Skills Development Authority will also participate by offering a "barista skills" demonstration, catering to those interested in pursuing work as baristas or starting their own coffee businesses. Additionally, a "Kadiwa ng Pangulo" booth will offer basic goods and commodities at reduced prices.
