Ilocos norte: The provincial government of Ilocos Norte has continued its commitment to support educational excellence by distributing cash incentives to children of Capitol workers. This initiative is part of the Smart Kids Program, aimed at rewarding students who have shown outstanding academic performance.
According to Philippines News Agency, Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos personally led the distribution of PHP7,000 to 92 students who have excelled in their studies, finishing at the top of their classes in elementary, senior high school, and college. The ceremony underscored the government's dedication to fostering educational achievement among its young constituents.
In her remarks during the event, Governor Marcos praised the students for their diligence and acknowledged the vital role played by their parents in supporting their educational journeys. "This is a big opportunity for all of you... this is really something that you are proud of. In a way, this also helps your parents," Marcos expressed to the recipients, highlighting the dual benefit of the program for both students and their families.
Fe Siazon, the human resources management officer, echoed these sentiments, noting the positive impact of the cash incentives. "The cash incentive is a great boost to our children, as well as to the proud parents," Siazon stated, emphasizing the morale boost and encouragement provided by the program.
For 15 years, the provincial government of Ilocos Norte has consistently rewarded children of Capitol workers who excel in their respective fields, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to nurturing talent and academic success.
