Mandaluyong city: Adamson University and Arellano University are set to face off for the first semifinals berth in the V-League Collegiate Challenge women's division on Saturday at Gameville Central Park. The highly anticipated match is scheduled for 10 a.m., with the outcome deciding which team will take the solo lead.
According to Philippines News Agency, Adamson University enters the match undefeated in four outings, even without the presence of Shaina Nitura. Key players for Adamson, including Nigeria's Frances Mordi, who leads the league in scoring and serving, along with Lana Barrera, Bella Sapienza, and Fhei Sagaysay, will be instrumental in their pursuit of victory. The Lady Falcons recently secured a win against the College of Saint Benilde Lady Blazers, with scores of 24-26, 25-17, 25-18, and 26-24.
Arellano University, also boasting a 4-0 record, will rely on the talent of Heart Villaflores, Cris Servidad, and setter Catherine Domasig to challenge Adamson's strong lineup.
In another match, San Beda University aims for a third consecutive win as they face Benilde at 12 noon. With a 2-2 record, San Beda will be led by rookie Isay Culanay, who delivered a tournament-high 13 blocks in their previous victory over the University of the East, with scores of 25-17, 21-25, 21-25, 25-22, and 20-18.
Additionally, in the men's division, National University will compete against Benilde at 5 p.m., while UST will take on Mapua at 3 p.m.
