Addt’l PHP300-M for Burnham Park’s Full Rehab Available

Baguio city: The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) announced that an additional PHP300 million fund has been allocated to complete the PHP400 million committed to the city government for the full rehabilitation of Burnham Park. The funding was initially approved before the pandemic but was temporarily redirected to support the coronavirus disease 2019 response, as stated by Mark Lapid, TIEZA's chief operating officer and general manager.

According to Philippines News Agency, TIEZA officials are currently in Baguio City to lend their support to the Panagbenga flower festival parades and to inspect the ongoing rehabilitation of Burnham Lake. Previously, in October 2025, the agency released PHP100 million for the park's rehabilitation, which includes repair works on facilities such as the children's park, skating rink, and rose garden.

Lapid remarked on the progress, stating that the rehabilitation efforts are revealing previously hidden features of the park, such as extensive mud deposits. The lake's rehabilitation project encompasses the construction of a dock, a retaining wall, and a view deck, along with sidewalk repairs that include the addition of benches.
