Manila: Stefi Marithe Aludo and Louraine Jallorina secured their places in the quarterfinals of Week 2 of the Oscar J. Hilado J60 World Tennis Championship, following impressive performances late Thursday.

According to Philippines News Agency, Aludo dominated Group C, while Jallorina led Group G in the round-robin preliminaries held at the Colegio San Agustin Tennis Center indoor hardcourts due to adverse weather conditions. The tournament is set to resume at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center on Friday. Aludo will compete against Thailand's No. 8 seed Sorvisa Kulphisanrat, while Jallorina will face No. 1 seed and first leg winner Yerin Lee from South Korea.

Other quarterfinal matchups include Jana Jelena Nicole Diaz playing against wild card entrant Shaner Gabaldon, and Maristella Torrecampo, also a wild card, challenging No. 4 seed Seojin Park of South Korea.

In doubles action, Aludo and Jallorina, who claimed the first leg doubles title, easily defeated Sofia Bartolata and Maria Astrid Cablitas with a score of 6-1, 6-1. This victory propels them into the quarterfinals of the annual competition, which has been renamed in honor of the late PHINMA Corp. Chairman Emeritus Oscar J. Hilado, recognizing his unwavering support and contributions to Philippine tennis. Kathlyn Ann Bugna and Torrecampo, along with Diaz and Indonesian Assyifa Khansa Putri, also advanced.

In the boys' division, John Kendrick Bona and Stephen Yu Fuertes overcame Jack Cooper of Hong Kong and Ethan Matthew Koh of Singapore, 6-0, 6-3. Meanwhile, wild cards Kenzo Marcus Brodeth and Steven Cabanilla defeated Knox Treasure of Australia and Ziwei Wang of New Zealand, 7-5, 6-2. The No. 1 pair Yashwin Dahiya of India and Jian Huang of China, the No. 2 team Weibo Huang and Bing-Huan Tsai of Chinese Taipei, and the No. 4 duo Kousuke Ko of Chinese Taipei and Ribhav Saroha of India have also progressed to the quarterfinals.
