Alyansa Coalition Gains Momentum Ahead of May Elections: Tiangco

Manila: The Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas remains solid and continues to build momentum ahead of the May 12 elections due to the coalition's growing national and local support, campaign manager and Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco said on Monday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the five-party Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, composed of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, Lakas-CMD, National People's Coalition, National Unity Party, and Nacionalista Party, is intact. Tiangco stated that the administration coalition is being strengthened not just by traditional alliances but by a growing wave of grassroots support.

"Our candidates continue to receive overwhelming support both at the national and local level, and even from grassroots organizations. This is something that we welcome and are proud of because politics is about addition, not division. It is about building coalitions. And in any election, every bit of support counts," Tiangco said.

The Alyansa ticket includes former Interior secretary Benhur Abalos; Makati Mayor Abby Binay; incumbent Senators Ramon Revilla Jr., Pia Cayetano, Francis Tolentino, and Lito Lapid; former senators Panfilo Lacson, Manny Pacquiao, and Vicente Sotto III; ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo; and Deputy Speaker Camille Villar of Las Pi±as.

Tiangco emphasized that each candidate was carefully selected by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. "because of their excellent skills and solid experience." "The Alyansa candidates are part of the administration slate because they are committed to the vision we all share: Bagong Pilipinas (New Philippines)," he added.

He said the coalition's mission is to consolidate public support and elect leaders "who are capable, committed, and deserving of the trust and confidence of the Filipino people."

"One of our goals is to build broad support around the shared platform of Alyansa, and our overarching objective is for all our candidates to win because they are capable, committed, and deserving of the trust and confidence of the Filipino people," Tiongco said.

"Ang bawat pag-endorso na makukuha ng bawat kandidato ng Alyansa ay patunay na pagtango at pagyakap sa Bagong Pilipinas na isinusulong ng ating Pangulo (Every endorsement that each candidate of the Alyansa gets is proof of a nod and embrace of the New Philippines that our President is promoting). And that is what matters most.
