Antique: The Provincial Board here commended Antique±o athletes who bagged medals in their respective sports disciplines during the recent Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) meet.

According to Philippines News Agency, Board Member Rony L. Molina highlighted the significance of the WVRAA meet, describing it as a platform for athletes across the region to demonstrate their skills and commitment to excellence in sports. Molina sponsored three resolutions commending the Antique±o athletes for bringing pride to their home province, families, and schools, during the regular session on Monday.

The athletes who secured gold medals for Antique included Brico Pe in the 100-meter backstroke, Ronin Manjares Pe in the individual taekwondo poomsae category, and Rein Montero in the anyo individual sword and dagger competition. Additionally, the Provincial Board congratulated six other athletes from the Bastonero Arnis Club of the Antique National School for earning silver and bronze medals in arnis.

The resolution commending the athletes emphasized that their victory not only elevated the medal standing of the Antique delegation but also served as a reminder of Antique's capacity to produce world-class athletes through unity, support, and determination. The gold medalists will join the regional delegation representing Western Visayas at the Palarong Pambansa in Ilocos Norte in May.
